Principal's (final) News

Dear Parents and Friends,

This will be the final newsletter for the year. I would like to say a BIG thank you to all families and friends for the resilience, tolerance and amazing support I, along with all Trinity Staff have received during 2020. Though a challenging year in many regards it has also been a year of great unity and strength within our community.

Last Thursday the Leadership Team along with Nigel our new Principal and Emily (our new Religious Education Leader) participated in a Dialogue and  Engagement day with our School Reviewer. Her preliminary report was extremely favourable. She pointed to our high levels of respect for other cultures and faiths, our high student growth in Reading and Numeracy, the high expectations that we have for learning, that we are highly structured and well organised, that there are positive and strong relationships between staff and students and that we offer targetted and evidence based programs amongst other positive feedback. Staff will be further involved with consultants from the Catholic Education Office on the 16th December to unpack this report and be involved in the strategic direction of the school for the next 4 years.

Nigel dropped in for a surprise visit yesterday afternoon and met our very tired senior students as they returned from camp and some of our parents. He left feeling very welcomed by those parents he met and very excited to begin his new role.

2021

Along with Lucy O'Dea and Maria Neill leaving Trinity, we will also say a 'sort of' farewell to Natasha Hemer who has decided to step away from full time teaching next year to 'hopefully' travel. Natasha will still be around Trinity as she will undertake replacement work. In her first year of teaching Natasha has done an outstanding job offering a warm and welcoming classroom for her students as well as as developing strong and respectful relationships with her families.

Although only with us for a short time, we also say farewell to one of our Learning Support Officers Ally Curnow who joined us at the beginning of term 4. Ally has worked in the junior area where she has enjoyed interacting and supporting the student's learning. The students have also appreciated the extra support she has offered them. We wish Ally all the best with her next stage.

We will welcome some new staff in 2021. Emily deKort will be our new Religious Education Leader and will work 1 day in Prep/1. Celia Williamson will be our new 2/3 teacher and Rebecca Tarquini and Amy Nolan will also join our junior team. We are very pleased to have them on staff notwithstanding, during their Induction yesterday, all  commented about how privledged and excited they feel to be offered a position with us.

Senior School Camp

Our senior students had a wonderful experience at Phillip Island this year. Thankyou to all students for their beautiful manners, exemplary behaviour and gratitude displayed by  all. Particularly thankyou to the staff who gave up their own comfy beds and good nights sleep to give the students such great opportunities and  keep them safe. It was certainly a very tired bunch of teachers and students who greeted us yesterday afternoon.

Wheels Day

Meanwhile, our juniors had great fun with Wheel's Day on Monday.

The Middle school and Junior school loved their excursion to Bounce and everyone is very excited for the Movies on Monday.

From Mrs Neill

Dear Parents and Students,

It is with much sadness that I leave Trinity after 21 years of being part of this amazing school. It has been a privilege to work at Trinity in many roles and I have loved working with my colleagues to lead the school through growth and new initiatives for our school community.

Over the years I have been truly blessed to have taught so many wonderful students and more recently as the Science Teacher, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I hope that I have instilled a love of Science and given the students the opportunity to develop their interests, and stimulate their curiosity.

I have really appreciated and valued my time here and I wish that all students continue to enjoy the great educational opportunities provided by Trinity.

My warmest wishes for a wonderful Christmas and may 2021 bring peace and good health!Maria Neill

And finally, wishing everyone a wonderful and joyful Christmas and enjoyable break.
