Foundation Classes - 100 Days of School
Grade 1 Mathematics
In Term 3, the grade 1B students have been learning about units of informal measurement during their mathematics lessons.
Our wonderful grade 1 classes have used stationary from around their classrooms, as well as their bodies through handspan, steps, and body length as informal units of measurement.
They were very excited to put their new skill to good use when measuring items around their class and school.
2022 Tutor Learning Initiative Student Survey
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Guardians,
The Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) has been an important part of school education in Victoria since 2021. Tens of thousands of students across Victoria have participated in the initiative. Wyndham Vale Primary School will be conducting a short online survey for the 2022 LTI Students of years 4, 5 and 6. This will be undertaken between Monday 8 August to Friday 19 August, these students have been notified by their classroom teacher.
The survey will help us understand how the initiative is working and how it might be improved. Participating students will be invited to complete the survey online during their regular TLI tutoring sessions using a purpose built secure online survey tool. It is not a test, but their opinion and participation is voluntary. The survey will take around 10-15 minutes to complete. All responses will be confidential, non-identifiable to the individual and reported in an aggregate form, similar to our Attitudes to School Survey for our Students.
Understanding attitudes of students towards their learning, including the different programs and initiatives they participate in, is a vital part of how we evaluate and improve our work. The survey will ask students about their thoughts on why they started coming to the tutoring sessions, their learning in the tutoring sessions and how they think the tutoring sessions may be improved.
We at Wyndham Vale believe that student voice is so important to our understanding of how our programs and supports are working and how we can improve. In our experience, young people also enjoy having their say. Similar surveys have been invaluable in helping us understand student views. We will use the survey results along with student assessment data and views of the wider community to help us understand how TLI can best support students, and this will help our school plan how best to implement the initiative.

2022 Parents/Caregivers/Guardians Opinion Survey
Dear Parents, Caregivers and Guardians,
Wyndham Vale Primary School is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. A random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents/caregivers/guardians have been selected to participate in this year’s survey. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 15th August to Friday 16th September.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.
