Maths Talent Quest - 2022

The focus of the Maths Talent Quest is on the process of working like a mathematician. Open to all primary and secondary students, the Maths Talent Quest aims to promote interest in mathematics and foster positive attitudes amongst students, teachers and parents, encouraging us all to investigate. The MTQ allows students to investigate Mathematics with the opportunity to have fun exploring mathematics in real life situations. MTQ is run by the Maths Association of Victoria (MAV) and is  judged by independent judges.

This year Our Holy Redeemer has entered one class entry (5/6) and six small group entries. The students and teachers have just finalised their Maths Investigations and they have been uploaded to the Maths Association of Victoria portal for assessment in the next couple of weeks.

Congratulations to the following students who have worked hard to investigate some real life Maths based problems. Click on the buttons below to have a look at our investigations.

Years 3 - 6  About Real Life - Sexuality Education

The school has engaged the services of About Real Life to conduct a Sex Education Program with all students in Years 3 to 6.  Over the previous 3 weeks we have participated in online information sessions for parents, and for children with their parents.

Commencing this week, there will be a series of class sessions the students will participate in.  The groupings for each of the sessions are different to the classroom groups.  This is outlined in the table below.

Sue Pain will be facilitating the program for the year 3 and 4 students, and Cathrine McCallig will be faciliating the program for the year 5 and 6 students.  There will be activities set for students to complete at home, by Sue and Cathrine, that will enable discussions to flow easily around this topic and also prepare the students for the next session at school.
