Class of 2022

The class of 2022, along with their families and teachers, gathered at The Centre Ivanhoe to celebrate the incredible milestone of completing VCE. 

Students, we are so proud of the passion and dedication you have brought to your studies. It was an honour to acknowledge what an exceptional group of young people you are at this special event. Above all, the camaraderie of this cohort has contributed to a wonderful year overcoming challenges, achieving incredible results and celebrating the wins together. 

Thank you to the Senior Stage Band for providing exceptional live music on the night and the 2023 school captains Alli Harris, Jackson Tier and Ruby Elliott for MCing the event.

Senior School Major Awards 

Darebin RSL Scholarship | Ella Conroy & Jack Reed

Presented to two students who intend to pursue a tertiary education with academic

and/or community achievement.

Australian Defence Force Long Tan Award | Anton Sankovic

Recognises students who demonstrate leadership and teamwork both within the school

and broader community.

Australian Defence Force Future Innovators Award | Adam Ozalp

This award was introduced to recognise students who have a keen interest and ability in

STEM, and to encourage these passions long after their schooling days are over.

Kat Theophanous Award for Resilience & Creativity | Raf Clements

Awarded to a student who demonstrated creativity and collaboration in the face of

the year’s obstacles. This is a student who has embraced the challenges with optimism

and determination and worked with their peers to make the most of a difficult set of

circumstances.

Ged Kearney Book Prize | Jonas Bayalty

Awarded to a student who has displayed consistent effort under adverse circumstances.

House Award | Harvey Constable

Awarded to a student in recognition and celebration of the positive contribution they

make to our school community across a range of extra-curricular activities.

Sports Award | Anton Sankovic & Elenia Giacomi

Awarded to a student who displays best and fairest in personal sporting pursuits, sport

leadership and coaching.

Performing Arts Award | Oliver Delaney

Presented to a student who has made an outstanding contribution to the Thornbury High

School Performing Arts program.

David Smith Pathways Award | Shahifa Hashmi

Awarded to a student who has shown exceptional ambition to assist in the transition from

high school to their chosen pathway.

Peter Edgeberg Citizenship Award | Catie McDonald

This is awarded to a student who strives for excellence, values the school community,

demonstrates selflessness and empathy towards others.

Subject Dux
