Leadership @ MPS

Tuesday night was such a joyful evening. Our students demonstrated how truly wonderful they are as they fully embraced the Christmas spirit through their singing and dancing!

 Well done to all.

All the very best to our Grade 6 students and families as they begin an exciting new chapter! Don't forget to come and visit us!

As we reflect on another year, we do so with optimism and a reassuring sense that 2023 will offer so many new adventures, new beginnings, new truths, new knowledge and new friends.

Wishing you all, a beautiful and safe Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Please be kind, spread joy and take care.

This year, the Year 6-7 Transition day will be held on Tuesday 13th December.  For those students that have already had transition and therefore will not be attending their 2023 secondary school, a regular program will be in place here at school.

Please see our newsletter page on Transition to Secondary School for some helpful parent advice.

School Council

Hello from School Council, for the last time this year! It was wonderful to see so many happy, smiley faces on Tuesday night at the Christmas concert, a celebration in true Monty style with families and friends. Huge thanks to the organising team for a fabulous show and congrats to all the students and staff for their excellent performances! We are in the home stretch with the end of school and festive season imminent and I’m sure we’re all ready for some down time after a busy year.

2022 has been another big year at Monty, which staff and students have worked through with resilience and determination they are known for. It was fantastic to have students back in the classrooms from day 1 (yay!) and while we avoided more lockdowns, the year wasn’t without its challenges as Covid has still left its mark. The new playground was completed at the start of the year and has been a huge hit. It’s great to see students of all ages enjoying this wonderful space which was made possible due to the fundraising efforts of our school community in previous years.

This year has been the "Year of the Book" at Monty, taking donations of books and raising funds for Lily’s Library - which will be an amazing place for all students to share and grow their love of reading, in memory of Lily.

Our fundraisers and events this year have included the Easter raffle, Movie night, election stalls, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day breakfasts which have been fantastic. And there is still time to add your support, either via the end of year raffle and art auction, or a donation. Thank you for all your contributions this year - whether you’ve supported a fundraiser, made a donation or contributed books they are greatly appreciated.

School council was off and racing early in the year with meetings on the plans for the new building. Janene, Bek, and Dave have led a tremendous amount of work to get to the stage where construction will finally commence in the new year! There have been many challenges and modifications that have had to occur, but the best outcome possible has been reached and we look forward to seeing the wonderful new building take shape. An extraordinary amount of work has also taken place around the school in preparation for these works to occur, our thanks to everyone who has participated in a working bee or answered a call out for help.

We are pleased to have Camp Australia continuing with us as OSHC provider for another 3 years, thanks to Eta and the Camp Australia team for an outstanding program. I’d also like to say a big thanks to all of our school councillors who take time out of their busy schedules to contribute.

To our amazing Monty staff, thank you for another great year - you are superstars! For those who are leaving us, thanks so much for your contribution to our school and best of luck for the future.

And to those joining us next year, welcome! We are thrilled to have you on board Team Monty. One of the great privileges of being on school council is hearing about the immense amount of behind the scenes work that goes on to make a school run, and appreciating the dedication and commitment of each and every staff member, especially given the last few challenging years.

Thank you again, and enjoy the holiday break. And to our wonderful Monty students - congratulations on another year of school!

To our Grade 6s we wish good luck and all the best for your secondary school journey! And everyone else, we’ll see you bright eyed and bushy tailed on January 30th - enjoy the holidays.

Families and friends, we wish you all the very best for a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday season. Take care and see you in 2023.
