As our first week for 2023 ends, we are all back in-house and the Boarding House is a hive of activity.
The sport schedule was released via the College App yesterday so we will be in the full swing of QGSSSA training next week.
Part-Time Jobs
Some of our students in Year 10+ have enquired about part-time jobs. In boarding, we support this, as we try to enable our students to appreciate the life they would have as a day student.
If your child is interested in pursuing part-time or casual work, before she accepts the position, we must have parent consent. Then there will be discussions regarding the logistics of the job to be considered such as, hours of work v study, school commitments, and transportation requirements.
We do our best to transport our boarders to many out of school events, however, at times, due to demand, which is very high this year with sport, it is not always possible to provide transportation to non-school activities such as part-time work commitments. A plan needs to be put in place, before the job is accepted, of how your child will get to and from her job.
Our Boarding House has its own Facebook group. This group is limited to boarding parents and carers only, which makes it a great place to showcase photos of our students at various activities. If you would like to follow our Facebook group, go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/340245156378504.
What’s Happening this Weekend
Activities for our first weekend back in boarding are:

| Sunday 29 January | Compulsory all day excursion to Wet'n'Wild with all boarding schools
