WELCOME MR MILLS

Mr Mathew Mills has been appointed to the position of the next Principal at St Joseph’s Primary School. Mathew will commence at the start of the 2023 school year. He joins us from the Brisbane Archdiocese where he is currently employed at St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School in Rosewood. Mathew has held the role of classroom teacher, sports coordinator, inclusion support teacher and acting leadership positions including Acting Principal. 

Mathew will be visiting St Joseph's Warialda on Wednesday the 7th of December. He will meet the students from 1:30 to 2:30 pm then parents, Fr Thaddeus and parishioners from 2:30 to 3:30 pm.

Chris Smyth, Director of CSO Armidale, and John O'Connor (School Performance Leader) will visit the school on Thursday the 8th of December from 9 - 10 am with Mathew. 

Semester 2 Reports 

The Semester 2 reports will be attached to a COMPASS notification on Friday the 9th of December.

ECT VISIT - Monday 28th November

Amanda Scott (CSO Early Career Teacher Subject Matter Expert) visited last Monday with Maria Wilson (Barraba LoP) and Justine Harris  (Barraba ECT). They went on a Learning Walk and Talk in both learning spaces and saw how we operate our two stage-based classes.              

End Of Year Mass and Presentation 

You are welcome to attend our End-of-Year events:

                        11:30 am    Graduation and End of Year Mass in the Church

                        12:30 pm    Presentation Lunch under the COLA

                         1:30 pm      Prize Giving, Speeches and Presentation Performance

Warialda Christmas Carnival

The children have been asked to sing at the Warialda Christmas Carnival. Mrs Brooks will be practicing with the children to sing 2 Christmas carols. If the children could meet at 5.35pm near the stage to perform at 5.45pm.

Exchanging of Christmas Cards 

The children can exchange cards at the end of Week 9 as this will be the last full week of lessons. The Year 4-6 Camp, Kinder -3 excursions and End-of-Year events will take place in Week 10. 

Year 4 - 6 Coffs Harbour Camp

We wish our senior students a wonderful time at Coffs Coast Adventure Centre.

Photos' will be posted on Facebook during camp so families can see the fun activities the children will be participating in.

Kinder to Year 3 End-of-Year Excursions

Our Kinder to Year 3 students will be going on daily excursions in Week 10 while our Year 4 to 6s are on camp (If your child is not attending camp they are expected to come to school and will participate in the activities with the K-3 children) .

                                                        (Bowling, Climb and Slide and nuggets and chips lunch)

             Wednesday Dec 14      Morning tea and play at Captain Cook Park

The children are asked to wear their SPORTS UNIFORM on each of these days.

Warialda's Pop-up Save the Koala Shop

Thank you to Jill from Warialda's Pop-up Save the Koala Shop for last week's talk and for showing us around the displays. We received an email from Deborah Tabart OAM, 

Chair of the Australian Koala Foundation. She invites St Joseph's to the launch of the pop-up shop in February 2023 ...

"It was just so lovely to see the children loving the Koala pop-up shop. We look forward to meeting them again in 2023".

Final 2023 Kindergarten Transition

Our final Kindergarten Transition will take place on Tuesday the 6th of December. The children have been in our program since Term 2 and are ready and raring to go.
