Hello, from Carolyn.

Hello everyone!

Violence is not accepted at Bendigo Primary School.

At this week's staff meeting, we began the process of clarifying some of our behaviour management processes. We had a conversation about what is violence and how we want to manage a situation if a student chooses to be violent.

Violence can be physical, verbal and always has an emotional impact. Violence is about having power over someone and the intent is to hurt. Examples include hitting, kicking, making threats (with an object or your voice), throwing an object at someone.

We want our students to understand very clearly that violence is never acceptable and is not a way to solve a problem. Any student that uses violence will be sent immediately to the office and their parents will be contacted so we can have a conversation together about what has happened and how we can work together to support the child to make better choices in the future.

Scooter donations please!

We have had one scooter donation and definitely need some more! If you have a scooter at home that is no longer being used, we would love if if you chose to donate it to our Bike Ed program. Scooters must be in excellent condition. If we get plenty of scooters donated, it means we have more funds to spend on safety equipment such as helmets.
