5/6 Celebrate International Bake a Cake Day!

Did you know that it was International Bake A Cake Day on Tuesday 20th July.

On Tuesday the 5/6 level were busy making cakes for International Bake A Cake Day (IBACD) . IBACD was founded by the Kingdom of Love, in Russia, in an effort to promote peace and wellbeing.

The students worked hard to make some tasty masterpieces in between completing their remote learning tasks. Creations ranged from cupcakes to elaborate masterpieces. These budding masterchefs should be commended on their efforts. The families assured us that they were very tasty, some were so delicious we got photos of half eaten cakes.  Next time we will make sure we do this activity in school, because the teachers were sad they missed out of the taste testing.

Well Done everyone in 5/6 !

Great Learning from 4F - Working from Home

Symmetrical Name Monster. Excellent work Aisling!

Gracie had to change the lyrics of a favourite song and put her own words in. She changed a song by Powfu, for  ‘For going on Vacation’. Beautiful singing G!

1/2 Fun

We hope you enjoy this clip of Mrs Hampton and Miss Greig enjoying an afternoon dance with our 1/2 students during Remote Learning.  Lots of laughter could be heard from miles away.  Aren't our teachers amazing!

Learning from Foundation

Our Foundation Students have been very busy at home this week.  Isla M has been doing some great maths with bundles for place values.  Mason and Raffy were busy making pizza for this week's Italian lesson.  Mato had a very busy week - doing great SMART spelling and making TWO delicious pizzas for Italian.  Which one would you choose?  Mato's Sweet or Savory Pizza?

P E News - Olympic Activity

With the excitement of the Olympic Game starting on Friday keep an eye out in your rubrics next week under PE for a Family Olympic PE activity.

Sustainability

Thank you everyone for bringing in your bread bags and tags! On Friday all of our bread bags and bread tags were mailed off to be recycled.

The bread bags are made into playground equipment and the bread tags into wheelchairs. Mrs Marziano is looking very confident with her large serving tray of bread tags and Laylah equally so.

Who do you think collected the most, the students or teachers?

It doesn’t really matter because at St Brigid’s we are all offering a Helping Hand to our environment by recycling and that makes the planet and us winners!

Did you know it takes 200 kilograms of bread tags to make a recycled wheelchair.  What do you think is the weight of the bread tags Mrs Marziano is holding on her tray?
