Principal's Message

Elaine Lesiuk: Acting Principal

End of Term 3

This week marks the end of Term 3. We have had almost a full term of remote and flexible learning, and I have been lucky enough to be a part of the Hillsmeade Community for 10 weeks!

To the students - thank you all for your resilience, persistence and commitment to learning. You have learned more about technology than we ever thought possible. Take some time to think back a year, and celebrate what you can do now that you couldn't do then. Think about your reading, your writing, your ability to solve problems, your creativity and skills, and the new friends you have made. Give yourselves a big pat on the back and allow yourself to be proud.

To the caregivers - Parents, Carers, Grandparents, Neighbours, Siblings, Family Friends  - it has been a long term! You have made it! It is hard to imagine we are still in this position, but I think finally there will be a path out - I am hoping your children will be back in school soon - happy and healthy, and continuing to thrive. Thank you for keeping our students engaged and supported with their learning.

To the teachers - thank you for coming up with innovative and new ways to teach your students. I pop into rooms when I can and love to listen and watch lessons in action! I know many of you have your own school-aged children too, which like all caregivers adds another challenge when working from home.

NAPLAN 2021

Naplan Results have been mailed out to families. Please let us know if your child in Year 3 or Year 5 has not received their results in the post. As a staff we are reflectively reviewing the results and using them to assist us with student learning needs moving forward.

Enjoy your holiday break,

Mrs Elaine Lesiuk
