Deputy Principal's Report
Years 7, 9 & 11
On behalf of Mrs Wearne, I would like to start off by congratulating all of students in Years 7, 9 and 11 for their continued effort and perseverance with their online learning throughout Term 3. This has been an unprecedented one for all students, however in the short time I have been relieving for Mrs Wearne I have continued to be impressed by the ability our students have shown to achieve their personal best in such a difficult environment.
I am sure the students in Year 7 did not have this in their plan when they were thinking about their first year of high school. I would like to congratulate all students in year 7 for their positive attitude to online learning. Your teachers have continued to comment on how well you have done. With the guidance and support of your families along with your year advisor Mr Newton, I am sure that your first year of high school will return to some sort of normal in Term 4.
Stage 5 students in Year 9 you have also undertaken this time with maturity and diligence. Students in year 9 have continued to stay fit and active. They have sent me photos of their personal fitness journals and I hope this has supported you in staying both physically and mentally healthy during lockdown.
Year 11 students, you have come to the end of your preliminary course this term. While we have had to make changes to the examination period, we have planned assessment tasks to ensure that you get the best results possible as you finish year 11. In Term 4, you will start HSC courses and we look forward to all of you achieving your own personal goals as you start your HSC journey.
Finally, I would like to congratulate all the students that undertook the online senior leadership interviews. All of you spoke extremely well and I know Mrs Wearne is looking forward to working with you in Term 4.
To all families, I would like to wish a safe and happy holiday and would like to thankyou for your continued support.
We look forward to seeing students back on site at school in Term 4.
Mr Gareth Wright
