Valuing the teaching profession - an independent inquiry – the Gallop Report
During these unprecedented times and ever-changing landscapes, we as parents/carers have gained a better understanding of the intricacies of educating our children in a safe and nurturing environment. Our community is fortunate to have dedicated teaching staff providing learning experiences to prepare our students for a rapidly changing world and as a result need to be recognised and supported for their on-going commitment and increasing workloads to secure a bright future for not only our children but the next generation and beyond.
At our last P&C general meeting held on Tuesday 10th August, we were fortunate to have a representative from the Teachers Federation, Theo Bougatsas, as a guest speaker. He provided valuable insights into what parents/carers need to know about the independent inquiry into the work of teachers and principals and changes in the teaching profession since the last inquiry held in 2004.
