Music Tuition

As we have moved to remote learning, some of our tutors have transitioned to online teaching. Please reach out to your child’s tutor to get more information. We encourage families to keep the practice routine going during this lockdown period and interact with tutors where possible.

Musicians at Work, Even in Lockdown!

Here’s one of our Year 3 students, Joshua Leung showing his talents on both piano and violin – at the same time! Despite only learning for a short time, Joshua recently took his Preliminary AMEB grade on violin. Please enjoy this wonderful performance by Patrick’s Reel by Joshua x 2!

Cassie Philippe’s passion project this week was about the Cello! Please enjoy her iMovie about this history of the cello along with some lovely playing from Cassie.

I encourage parents to send in a video of students performing an item. This is a great way of keeping students focused during this remote learning time and to share some of the pieces they have prepared for their AMEB exams. Please email or share videos with me directly at ksinclair@kws.nsw.edu.au

Year 4 Instrumental Program

Although we are in remote learning, please encourage students to practice their instruments where practical and possible. I will be posting some useful tips and tutorials in the Year 4 TEAMS page later this week for students to use. If something goes wrong with the instrument whilst at home, please reach out to the me for assistance. If in doubt, please do not try to fix instruments as sometimes more damage can be done!

Assembly Performances

This week, our Beginner Dance group would have been performing their dance routine in assembly. Due to lockdown this will not happen, but thankfully we videoed their rehearsal last week! Miss Lindsay is very proud of the hard work and dedication they have shown in learning this routine in preparation for the Orange Eisteddfod, which unfortunately ended up being cancelled! We are delighted to share this with you and congratulate the girls on a fantastic performance.
