New Timetable Proposal for 2022

Hi Everyone!

Here at PHS we have been working behind the scene, looking for opportunities to change the school times to allow the students to have a dedicated 40min lesson for pastoral care/ career development each week.

By Increasing the length of the school day on either side of the day, 10 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the afternoon we are able to incorporate this extra time and an early closure on Wednesdays where the students finish at lunchtime. This will then enable the staff at PHS to engage in Professional Development & Training every week to ensure we continue to upskill teaching staff in modern teaching practice. Whilst it means an early closure each week, students would actually gain an additional 20 minutes of learning.

We have already consulted with the staff, students and governing council and would now like to widen the consultation to the rest of the community.

I will be sending out full details on Friday (10th September) with a form for feedback so please look out for this. We would like to collate and respond to all feedback by the end of term.

Currently it would look like this:

Principal News

I am sure many of you are aware that David Marino who was leading Edward John Eyre for the last 18 months has won the Principal position at Kapunda for 2022.

This means that a tenured Principal vacancy has been advertised to replace David. The process is ongoing and applications close Thursday of week 9.

This process may take a number of weeks but as soon as we have more information I will send an email out to let you all know the result of that process.

Regards,

Steven Barclay
