Book Week 2021

Theme: Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds

Book Week 2021

Next week we will celebrate Book Week commencing with a special day on Monday 23rd August. Children are invited to dress in a costume related to the theme (Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds) or as a favourite character from a book.

We will be able to see some costumes at our online School Assembly and children will get to show off their costumes in the Class Meets straight after assembly.

Costume ideas based on some of the shortlisted books:

My Birthday Was the Best: Dress up as a cockroach and carry a slice of cake or dress as the birthday child and carry a cake with a fake cockroach on it.

Norton and the Bear: wear a bear costume or dress like Norton.

Ellie's Dragon: Create a dragon costume to wear. Make bat wings and add a tail.

The Unwilling Twin: Carry a stuffed toy pig.

Go Away, Worry Monster! Turn a sock into a Worry Monster and wear it on your hand in the parade.

Ribbit Rabbit Robot This could be a group dress-up with three children each dressed as a different character (rabbit, frog or robot) and carrying a magic lamp.

Busy Beaks: make a bird mask.

Anemone is Not the Enemy: turn yourself into a sea anemone; remember to add the clownfish

Worse Things: Bring a hockey stick or football to be one of these characters.
