From the Principal

Dear Families,

Welcome back to Term 3. It has been wonderful to see students and families back at school after the mid-year break. Teachers and students have all settled back into the routine of school and have started engaging with new learning topics for Term 3.

Every term at Galilee is filled with exciting events and this term is no different. This term students will be working hard to practice for our upcoming School Concert "Galilee at the Movies''. We cannot wait to celebrate this event and know that everyone is working hard and learning lots as we prepare for this highly anticipated performance. This term our Parent Community will also be gathering for our main event - The Gala. We have a team of parents who are busy preparing and organising this event and we very much look forward to the opportunity to come together later this term.

As you will all be aware, Mr. Millar is still at home recovering from a serious bike accident that he was involved in earlier this year. He has been in regular contact with us at school and is hopeful that he will be able to return in a part time capacity within the next two weeks.

Learning and Teaching Priorities at Galilee

This term, we would like to take some time to share our Learning and Teaching Priorities for 2024. In this Newsletter you can find links to videos that our Leaders in Literacy, Religious Education and STEM have made. Please click on the link to hear them talking about the area they lead and the priorities they are focusing on.

Formal Parent Teacher Conversations in Term 3

Galilee holds two formal Parent/Teacher Conversation events during the year where teachers and parents have the opportunity to meet each other and discuss a student’s progress and individual needs. The last formal Parent/Teacher Conversation was held in Term 1 this year.

Our next Parent/Teacher Conversation is scheduled for Term Three. The date for this event is Thursday the 7th of September, from 8am until 5pm. The session times will be 10 mins in duration. This will be a normal school day for the students and students will be dismissed at normal time. You will have the opportunity to have your Parent/Teacher Conversation online or onsite. Further information will be sent out in early Term 3 about booking a time to meet with your child(s) classroom teacher.

School Uniform

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you about the importance of the correct wearing of our school uniform. The Galilee School Uniform is a uniform that we hope students wear with pride. We feel very lucky to be a part of Galilee and we know that our students feel the same. Our uniform is an important aspect of being a part of our community and we would like to encourage each family to ensure that students are dressed each morning in the correct uniform, including their socks and shoes.
