Dear families,

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Teagan Roberts who was awarded with a commendation for a short story she wrote title, Escape. Teagan entered the junior section of the Furphy Literary Award competition. This is a fantastic achievement. 

JEANS FOR GENES DAY

On Friday 4th JSC are running a fund raiser to raise money for research. It is an out of uniform day. Students are asked to make a gold coin donation towards Children's Medical Research Institute.

MOOROOPNA ROTARY

Last week Mooroopna Rotary kindly donated a variety of trees to our Grade 5 and 6 students as part of the National Tree Day.

COVID

Over the past few weeks, we have been notified of some COVID cases. Please check your children if they have symptoms.

XUNO

Our school is changing to a new platform called XUNO. This will enable us to streamline our communication process instead of using a variety of apps for processes. Bookings for Parent Teacher Interviews will be held in Week 6 will be made via this platform. You will be receiving an email with an invitation to join XUNO within the next week. Please ensure your email is up to date with the school so you don't miss this important information.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

Our next meeting is Monday 7th August commencing at 6.30pm. Finance will start at 6pm. 

2023 PARENT / CAREGIVER / GUARDIAN OPINION SURVEY:

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. A sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents / caregivers / guardians has been selected to participate in this year’s survey. If your name is on this list you will receive an email with a link and password.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7th August to Friday 8th September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.This year we used the survey results to inform the development of our new Strategic Plan.
