Putting the Health in PDHPE 

For Health this term we have been learning about nutrition and about the foods we put in our bodies and the effects it can have on us.  This week the years 1-2 sorted foods into healthy lunch options and sometimes food options - remembering that sometimes food options means once a week, not once a day!! The older students looked at the food pyramid and the different amounts of recommended foods we should eat. 

 

We also looked at rainbow foods and the reasons it is important to try and eat a range of different coloured fruit and vegetables because they each have different health benefits.

 

We have included a nutrition rainbow for you to discuss with your children.
