'Music can name the unnameable and communicate the unknowable' - Leonard Bernste

Over the past fortnight, Level 3/4 students have moved from creating a story through multiple freeze frames in small groups to creating a story or picture through a single freeze frame in small groups. Students have been learning about Music theory and have focussed on understanding what a Musical Staff is. They have considered the difference between a Treble Clef Staff and a Bass Clef Staff, the different notes that fall on each line or space on a Treble Clef Staff or Bass Clef Staff, the sounds produced by these notes and how to sign each note. Level 3/4 students have enjoyed playing 'Boomwhackers', 'Night in the Museum' and 'Space Jump'.

Over the past fortnight, Level 5/6 students have been focussing on cannons, levels, positions and transitions in Dance. Students have been working in small groups to consider starting positions, transitions between movements and creating a group dance through movement of their bodies. Our Drama focus has been around Space as an element of Drama. Space involves the area used throughout a performance to communicate meaning, define settings, represent status and create actor and audience relationships. Level 5/6 students have enjoyed playing 'Space Jump' and 'Fill The Space'.

REMINDER: Choir will run on Fridays from 12:30pm-1:00pm in the Performing Arts Room!
