Senior Fellas Boarding

And just like that we enter the second part of the year!  With our NT students enjoying the ‘Dry Season’ break in the NT and all students enjoying reconnecting with family and friends at home, we are now back into boarding with many stories to share and a positive vibe around the house.  We have welcomed MITS Alumni Marley, Bruce and Waylon back into boarding, they continue to demonstrate great leadership and all fellas are well settled.

Our weekends continue to be busy with the fellas participating in school and community sports across AFL, Rugby and Netball.  We have enjoyed movies, go karting and hosting a football team BBQ with many more fun activities to come as the term progresses.  We have commenced ‘Student Chef’ this term, giving the fellas an opportunity to be supported in creating a meal of their choice for our group to be shared and enjoyed.  We have introduced some new Yidakis (didgeridoos) to the boarding house, it has been truly wonderful hearing the sounds daily as they practice, play and connect with each other.

Our weekly focus areas for the term have begun with being organised and on time and moved into showing gratitude and respect.  We will also commence life skills fortnightly and look forward to an activity on identifying our own character strengths.  Homework sessions are now back up and running with the assistance of some amazing volunteers and with great participation from the fellas.
