Dear Families,
Principal Leave
Pilgrimage to the Holy Land: Past, Present and Future.
“Following in the Footsteps of Jesus”.
Friday 1 September – Thursday 14 September 2023
I am privileged to have been given the opportunity to be part of a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Israel with fellow Catholic Primary School Principals from schools in the North West of Melbourne.
The pilgrimage will focus on:
- Experiencing the sacred wellsprings of our faith in the footsteps of Christ, His disciples, and Saints.
- Making connections with history, tradition, and culture to deepen an understanding of the Bible.
- Connecting with the historical reality of Jesus and at the same time the present and ongoing relationship with Him to provide inspiration to school leaders in their role in Catholic Education today.
- Providing opportunities for personal life-changing transformation and renewal of individual faith.
- The physical journey as a sacred journey in which God is encountered through the places, people, and challenging experiences faced to enrich the mind and soul in a vision of justice for all.
I will be in Israel for the final two weeks of Term 3 and then will be taking Long Service Leave at the beginning of Term 4 to travel to Portugal, Spain, and London with family. I will return to school on Monday, October 23.
While I am away I leave you in the very capable hands of Angela Flint, who will be the Acting Principal, and Lauren Doherty, who will be the Acting Deputy Principal.
‘On return from the pilgrimage, life is seen with different eyes.
Nothing will ever be quite the same again’.
Rock Bottom Production
We are now only a week away from our School Production and everyone is very busy putting all the final pieces together. A reminder to all families to ensure you have sent your child's costume to school ready for the Dress rehearsal on Wednesday. Please also remember that this a compulsory event and all children should be present.
A special newsletter will be sent home with all the information you require for the day of the Production, please keep a lookout for that and remember to purchase your tickets as they are selling fast. Families are now able to purchase more than 2 tickets.
Looking forward to an amazing night!

School Fees
Final invoices for payment of the 2024 school fees were sent out earlier this week. All families not on direct debit payments are required to finalise payment of school fees prior to the end of Term 3. If you are having any financial concerns and would like to discuss your payment of fees further, please contact the office to make a time to speak with me.
2024 Enrolment
We are currently receiving many requests for positions in our school, particularly in Years 1-6. To assist us in planning for 2024 class groups, I ask families that are leaving St Michael's to email me as soon as possible.
