Dear Families,

Welcome Back! It was so lovely to see everyone come through our school gates yesterday! I have certainly missed seeing you all -  watching the children play four square, have Ella and Tess come over and get the keys to open the toilets (their unofficial job!), see Sarah greet Kit with an excited squeal and a warm hug and all the chatter and laughter in the playground again - exactly what schools should be like! Thank you again for your understanding and support during these trying times!

It is with great excitement that at the time of writing CAMP will go ahead! I know the 5/6 parents and students have been holding their breath, crossing fingers and toes for camp to happen!  We are so looking forward to taking them on their well deserved camp.

As with all things COVID we still have restrictions in place and I thank you for abiding by these restrictions and your understanding.

  • Team Kids are open for Before and After School Care
  • Face masks must be worn at all times
  • You must QR Code when you enter the school grounds - these can be found on both the Chute and Barkly St gates.
  • Parents are to wait outside for both pick up and drop off. Parents can go to the office via Albert Street
  • Incursions cannot occur
  • Excursions can resume but only if we are the only school visiting the venue at that time
  • No assemblies or gatherings

SOCIAL EVENTS

I had a meeting with Jen (fundraising coordinator) and unfortunately we have to reschedule both the Disco and the Parent Social night. It is so disappointing but this is what we are living with at the moment - a shifting landscape that can change overnight sometimes.

DISCO

We have postponed the Disco to Friday August 13th. For those who have bought tickets, you will be refunded to your CDF account and we will put the tickets up for sale again on Friday August 6th.

SOCIAL NIGHT

Again this is being postponed - we are in the process of working out a date which we will let you know as soon as  we know.  Jen is coordinating the venue, the music and the casino people to get us a new date.

I have to say a big thank you to Jen for being so proactive in trying to make the reschedules as seamless as possible.

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD

Working Bee

We are looking forward to seeing as many families as possible at our working bee on Saturday 11th September. Fingers crossed we do not have to reschedule!

Colour Run

The children are participating in a Colour Run fundraiser on the last day of term - Thursday 16th September. We are going to  make this a fun day for the children with our Year 6 sport leaders creating activities for our children to participate in, a sausage sizzle and then finishing with the colour run over at Governor Rd park.

We are raising funds to build a sensory garden at the front (Albert Street) of the school. The pavers will be used to form a pathway through the garden.
