House News -  Phoenix

Welcome back to Term 3 everyone.  I hope you all had a good break and are ready to face the challenges of a new term.

Due to COVID restrictions, the MAD day walk and fund-raising has been pushed into term 3.  This gives us an opportunity to continue our fundraising efforts.  All students have been given information regarding MAD Day, where the money raised goes and sponsorship forms. It is so important that all students get involved in raising money.  Remember, the more money that we raise, the greater the improvement and impact we can make on the lives of the people who we are trying to help.  All the Houses have been fundraising throughout Term 2 and will continue in Term 3.  Examples of some of the fund-raising initiatives have been, Delphinus House selling hot chips, Leonis House selling hot chocolate and Phoenix House selling lollies and drinks. The greater the amount raised, the more we can help others.

To all Year 12 students, the end of the school year is in sight. Keep working hard in all your subjects, do not give up, even if it would seem easier to do so.  Remember, Year 12 is a special year and it is an opportunity for you to create some great memories that you can keep for the rest of your lives.  All the best to everyone.

O Lord,

Today I call upon your name to ask for Your guidance as we begin Term 3 here at St. John’s Regional College.  We thank you for all our resources and pray for strength so we may shine bright and make the best of Semester 2.

This past year has been trying for us all. Through lockdown, online learning, and all the other poignant effects of the novel virus, we have been tested by You. Yet, we know you have not abandoned us even though at times we may feel that way.  We feel your love and know you are merely strengthening us through hardships so we can conquer life’s challenges.

We will all carry our cross on the road back to You with confidence for we know whatever path we walk down, You are 100 steps further, paving the way for us so we will neither have to walk alone nor in darkness.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isiah 41:10

Amen.
