5/6 Camp

Written by Sukriti K and Pearl

From the 15th to the 18th of June all the staff and students of the Leadership Centre went on an amazing camping trip to Coonawarra Farm Resort. You could feel the excitement at school as the students eagerly awaited the boarding of the bus. Given we had all been stuck in lockdown, completing our Remote Learning tasks, we were all rearing to get physical and explore the beautiful surroundings of Glenaladale (not too far from Bairnsdale).

There were many activities to do at Camp Coonawarra, each as fun as the next! Wall Climb, Horse Riding, Flying Fox, Canoeing, Giant Swing and even Archery! We could not believe how many wonderful activities there to participate in. Canoeing was a highlight for most students (did we mention that Mr Shaw fell in the lake?? Well now you know!)

We want to mention that the camp food was magnificent and that is all thanks to our amazing chef Rudolf! All students and staff were never left hungry as the food kept us full and energetic for all the adventurous activities. The dessert on offer was even better than the main courses!

To top it all off, the students watched a movie on the very last night – The Mitchell’s vs the Machines. By the end week the students were all exhausted, but it was well worth it! Spending time with friends was fun and it was a perfect way to get back to school. Everyone was glad to have been able to go to camp. Thanks to all the teachers that came on camp for making it a wonderful experience.
