Year 6 robotics and coding

Melbourne City Reflection

When I first heard that we were doing robotics and soccer, I was nervous because I didn’t know what was coming but it turns out feeling nervous was just nonsense! I enjoyed building the robot and playing with it. Doing the soccer championships was really enjoyable too! Although my team didn’t really know how to control the robot, we had fun :) . We do robotics and soccer every Wednesday.

My favourite part was the outside activities. There was a lot of teamwork but it was intense too. We did European handball, number soccer, normal soccer, everyone’s it and line tag. I liked European handball the best!

We learnt how to code the robot which was also cool! We learnt how to make it say things, play music and change its eye colour!

More class reflections on the program.

IPS once again partnered with Melbourne City Football club for robotics and coding. Thanks Melbourne FC. We have loved it.

AFL training incursion

On Thursday 17th and 24th June we had an AFL incursion. Jake, a professional footballer came and taught us football skills. He was an extremely funny and positive person to everyone. Jake made everything difficult and fun. He did things with us like standing on one foot, whilst trying to catch a handball with one arm. Jake really made us laugh and encouraged everyone, even when we made mistakes.

We would really like Jake as our substitute sports teacher one day!
