Did you know that 12 Year 6/7 students attended our Annual Interschool Hiragana Competition last term? It is a chance for the students to show off their quick recall of the Hiragana characters in a fun yet competitive way!
There were 12 teams competing and the competition was very close and very intense! Our students did a fantastic job and we were lucky enough to have 2 of our 3 teams achieved 2nd and 3rd place. A great effort!
Unfortunately it has also come time to say ‘Sayonara’ to Noriko Sensei as she will be working at her next 2 schools for the remainder of the year. We have been so lucky to have had her with us in Term 2 & Term 3 of this year. The students have really enjoyed having her in the classroom and she has fitted into our school community so well. She will be greatly missed!
We farewelled Noriko at our last assembly for the term, however I would personally like to take this opportunity to formally thank her for the enthusiasm and energy she showed during her time at West Beach. It has been so great having her here and I have really appreciated all the extra learning opportunities she has provided both our staff and students. Arigato!
