Apple Chargers
Apple recall on chargers. Apple have issued a worldwide recall on chargers issued to iOS devices (such as iPads) between 2003 to 2015 due to a potential risk of electrical shock. This includes iPads issued by St Bede’s College over the past 6 years. Note that current Year 7 students have iPads with chargers that are safe and do not need to be replaced. The College has provided an exchange program onsite in IT Support since Term 1. The onsite exchange program has been extended until 25 May and parents are encouraged to check if their sons have taken the opportunity to exchange their charger. After 25 May the exchange can be done directly at an Apple store. This is a very quick process and can be done on a walk in basis at Apple Southland without proof of purchase. Below is a link to the Apple website which will provide more information on the program. https://www.apple.com/support/ac-wallplug-adapter/
ICT Devices
ICT Devices for 2016.
Parents of students in Year 9 are reminded that a notebook computer is required for use in Year 10 in 2017. As these are required as part of the Flying Start transition program towards the end of this year, the ordering and purchase process will commence in September. Based on last year’s notebook the price was approximately $1370. Whilst supplying your own notebook will be an option, it is not recommended. The notebooks currently being used by Year 10 to 12 students include full support, three year warranty, accidental damage cover, and a range of Windows based software that is compulsory for student use at school. More information will become available through email at a later date.
