Principal's Message

Founders' Day Mass-

Message Stick Blessing

At St Bede's College, we acknowledge the original custodians of the land on which we stand, the Boon wurunng People and their elders past and present.

At our Founders' Day Mass we will present before our Community a Message Stick.  For thousands of years the Aboriginal People used a message stick as a way of communicating across the country.  Symbols and markings have been made on the stick which represents the permission that is sought to cross the country of another tribe with different totems and lores.

We have been given the privilege of this sacred symbol to reflect our unity while respecting cultural differences when spreading the God News of Jesus Christ.

The message stick will be permently placed in the College Chapel.

The Old Collegians spoke highly of the relationships they had with their teachers while at the College and all had very fond memories of their time attending St Bede’s College.
