VCE Philosophy Conference: Future Thinking
On Sunday 21 July, the VCE Philosophy students attended the 2019 Preshil Philosophy Conference on Future Thinking, at the State Library of Victoria.
The conference included presentations from local and international philosophers, thinkers and academics and explored how technological development will shape our understanding of who and what we are, and how we should live in the 21st Century.
The talks included topics such as: data sharing online, how to find meaningful connections in an age of technology, transhumanism, artificial limbs and emerging health technologies, self-driving cars and military technologies..
It was fantastic to see students engaging in the content, asking questions of the philosophers and participating in debates with VCE Philosophy students from a range of secondary schools.
