LYL Program

College leaders from St Bede’s and De La Salle Malvern swap blazers.

The Lasallian Youth Leadership (LYL) program

Is one of many extracurricular programs offered at  St Bede’s College and it offers students with the chance to display what it means to be a member of a Lasallian school and community. On Monday  7 May, students and teachers from the college attended a young Lasallian Gathering hosted by fellow ACC College, De La Salle Malvern. There we were given the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals from schools around Melbourne who share our Lasallian ethos. After eating a delicious meal together, we were given the privilege to listen Br Mandy Dunjunco speak about what it means to be a ‘Lasallian without Limits’; he elaborated on what a ‘hero’s mentality’ is and shared valuable lessons from his life. The night was full of many laughs and powerful moments, but was capped off when Br Mandy played everybody a song on his ukulele.

Leaving De La Salle College that night, I felt a great sense of comfort knowing that there are many individuals around Melbourne who share the same Lasallian values and ethos that we hold at

St Bede's College.
