Specialist Events

A wonderful part of the SMPS curriculum is our specialist program. This term, our specialist teachers are holding events in P.E., Visual Arts and Music (later in the year). These events allow the specialist curriculum to be showcased to families and the community. Please find information about these events below.

Whole School House Sports Day - Friday 27th October

Our Whole School House Sports Day is fast approaching! This year we will be hosting it at SMPS and rotating through various activities, making use of the park, forecourt, gym and Level 2 outdoor court. From running races to obstacle courses and egg and spoon races, it is sure to be fun! Will Clarendon (the blue house) win again? We will have to wait and see!

Students should wear their PE pants or shorts on the day but a t-shirt in their house colour.

  • Clarendon = Blue
  • Ferrars = Green
  • Montague = Red
  • Normanby = Yellow

We will finish the day with an assembly to celebrate! All parents are welcome to watch over at the park, the forecourt and the assembly. For logistical reasons we can't have parents watching the gym and Level 2 basketball court activities.

More details will come out next week regarding activities and timings.

Art Show - Message from Miss Phoebe

Hello wonderful SMPS families!

I am very excited to let you all know that we will be having another SMPS Art Show in Week 6 of Term 4, to celebrate the fantastic work of our amazing students!

But this year, we don’t want to just celebrate the students’ artworks, but yours too! We will be having a section in the Art Show that will be dedicated to showcasing artworks made by members of our community. You don’t need to be a professional artist to submit your artworks to the Art Show, as the students know you don’t have to be a professional to be a great artist.

Any artworks donated to the Art Show will be available to buy, all the proceeds going to the Visual Art program and a chosen charity.

Please feel free to contact me for further information or drop your artworks off to our school reception so that I can prepare them for the display!

Thank you so much and see you all soon!

From Miss Phoebe 😊
