A performance to remember

Interactive Incursion

Earlier this term, Year 10 took part in an interactive, multimedia lesson (in the form of a performance) on the risks associated with underage drinking. The lesson was aligned to the curriculum and consisted of three performers finding themselves in trouble as a result of their misuse of alcohol.

The performers explored life changing effects of alcohol and the impact it has on health, safety, relationships and career aspirations.

At the conclusion of the performance, students were invited to probe the cast on any issues that were brought up during the show.

Year 10 enjoyed the performance and engaged by asking many questions.

Here’s what they had to say:

Trish Nguyen, Adrianne Alvaro, Maree Zucco & Olivia Mu: “Year 10 was able to experience a fantastic act aimed to teach themselves with an educational performance about alcohol abuse. The act was filled with enthusiasm and succeeded in educating their aimed audience. It included heavy topics of peer pressure and consequences of liquor use. The Smashed performance gave us the opportunity to visualise what a realistic consequence would emotionally and physically feel like. The three amazing performers were able to interact with the students and ensured their engagement by allowing the opportunity for questioning at the end.

We speak on behalf of all of Year 10 when we say the Smashed performance was successful and it would be amazing to experience again."
