Respectful, Responsible, Successful
NAPLAN
Congratulations to Years 7 and 9 who have recently completed NAPLAN. NAPLAN is an annual assessment for all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9, which cover skills in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation, and numeracy. It was very pleasing to see our students approach these assessments with great positivity and determination. Our students most certainly displayed their commitment to being respectful, responsible and successful during this period and I commend you all on your efforts!
Staffing News
I am pleased to announce that Mrs Amy Shannon has been appointed as a permanent member of our Creative and Performing Arts faculty. Mrs Shannon has already made an enormous contribution to the Creative and Performing Arts team and has mentored many of our students through her Girls Wellbeing Program and more recently as Year 7 Year Adviser. Congratulations Mrs Shannon!
Mrs Lord is taking some well-earned leave next term, so Mrs Carter and Mr Floriano will be relieving for her as Deputy Principal for Years 7 and 11 until her return in Term 3.
(Mr Floriano will be relieving Deputy Principal on Wednesdays).
I look forward to welcoming them both to the Senior Executive team for Term 2!
Recognition letters
In Term 1 and Term 3, our teachers nominate students who consistently work well with their teachers and peers for recognition letters. Parents should receive these letters during the school holidays. It is always wonderful to recognise students who demonstrate our FOCUS values of being respectful, responsible and successful in class.
