Foundation Update

Buddies

Buddies is off to a flying start and the students have been involved in ‘Getting to Know You’ games and cooperative team games. 

This week in Buddies, the students will be looking at Mathletics. The Year 5s will be showing their buddies how to log in to Mathletics and complete the assigned tasks. Foundation students had their Mathletics log details sent home last week. That card can be kept at home.

Me Bags

All students were sent home with a “Me Bag’ in week 5.  They have been asked to collect 3 items that are special to them to share with their class. All 3 items need to fit inside the bag and the bag can be decorated if desired!

Please check the date on your child’s ME BAG and start sending them back into school. The special presentations are due to start this week. Once your child has shared their ME BAG, we will send it all back home.

SMART Spelling

Next week is a revision week where we will be going back over the 4 ‘words of the week’ and the common words. A sheet will be sent home for you, so you know which words to focus on.

Hats

We still have quite a few students coming to school without a wide brimmed hat. Please ensure your child has a named hat in their bag every day.   The students are welcome to leave their hats in their lockers each evening if that is easier.  If needed, wide brimmed hats can be purchased at the office for $10 each.
