Foundation Students

As part of our daily literacy routine, students practise writing their names, numbers 1-10 and letter sounds, Take a look at Hina’s great work below. Students have been learning how to blend sounds together to make a word! We started with 2 letter words like at, in then 3 letter words like sat, pat, and nonsense words like aps, san and now we are working on blending 4 letter words. Blow is Matilda and Hina’s fantastic work on some real and nonsense words!

During our numeracy sessions, Foundation students have been working on ordering numbers from 0-10. Students have done rotations with activities like puzzles and threading. They also have been doing some cut and paste work sheets. Look at Linc and Phoenix working so well together to order numbers with matching subitising cards. Lachlan worked hard on a cut and paste ordering activity. What superstars!

Students have been working on the Zones of Regulation, there are 4 colours with different feelings for each zone. The four zones are: blue, green, yellow and red zones. These four different zones assist students with identifying different feelings and how they can affect our ability to learn. Students really enjoyed completing an activity with their older buddy where they sorted out different emotions into the different zones.
