Building/s Update 

After the very exciting delivery of our new relocatable last Friday, (you may have seen the crane clips on our socials), work has been non-stop in preparation for handover. We have counted up to five different trades working simultaneously each day and our Monty staff are thrilled about its upcoming completion. The space incorporates staff offices and break out rooms and also has space for Japanese classes. This is great news, as in the past, Junko has conducted Japanese lessons within each of the classrooms. A dedicated Japanese room allows for greater flexibility in Junko's program. We can't wait to see Junko operating in this space! At this stage, we are expecting for it to be finalised and handed over by Friday, 24 March. 

The fortnightly outlook for our other, much more substantial build happening at the northern end of the school, is continued earthworks including drainage and pouring of lots of concrete. Any observant community members may have even spotted some new retaining walls which are popping at different points within the build site.

We certainly have a very busy school at the moment, it is all very exciting!

Fundraising

Now that the school has officially finalised collecting funds for Lily's Library (stay tuned for movement in this space soon!) the school has decided on our new fundraising venture for the remainder of 2023. All monies raised will be tagged for the landscaping surrounding our brand new building which will incorporate a Japanese Garden sanctuary. Please make sure you give generously when the opportunities arise throughout the year knowing that these funds will be well spent!

Planning Week 

The second last week of this term - beginning Monday, 27 March, is Monty Primary's termly 'Planning Week'. This is where our timetabling guru, Jess Bailey, is able to work her magic and find time for each of the teaching teams to spend work together preparing for the upcoming term. During this week children and families can expect changes to the timing of normal weekly Specialist lessons.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Term One Parent/Teacher Progress Interviews will be taking part in the last week of this term on Wednesday, 5 April from 12:30pm - 6:20pm. Students will have activities with specialist teachers in the afternoon on that day to allow class teachers to conduct interviews with parents. Bookings can be made via Compass and these will open on Monday, 20 March at 1pm. There will be correspondence sent out closer to the date about where in the school interviews will be held and other pertinent information.

Sports Shed

Huge thanks to the amazing Mrs Costa who has single handedly rearranged the Sports Shed to an inch of its life!  Thank you Mrs Costa - what a fabulous effort!

Easter Egg Guessing Competition 

On Monday next week, we will be begin the annual 'Egg Guessing' competition. Maybe your child could do some chores around the house this weekend to earn some pocket money! $1 per guess!
