Fantastic French

Bonjour tout le monde!

Our French poetry task ended on Friday, September 10.

Merci beaucoup to all students and parents for their interest and support in this task. Winners and place-getters will be announced in Term 4, after week 1.

In this final week of term, after dedicating a lot of time to memorization and fine-tuning pronunciation, students were asked to explore French cultural activities relating to the Integrated Studies topic of  "Social Justice".

Students in Foundation and Grade 1ET, 1JT and 1AM completed a postcard from Paris and were encouraged to imagine and write what they would see on a holiday there, using the postcard as a stimulus.

Grade 12C, 2FB  and 2MC  used a word-find of French words on countries with the aim of finding similarities and differences with English country names.

Grade 3 and 4 looked at the life and achievement of the Frenchman Louis Braille and his contribution to the world with his creation of a universal tactile alphabet to aid those with a seeing disability.

"Médecins sans Frontières" is an international French organisation which provides medical assistance around the world.  This week's Grade 5 and 6 task is to research some facts about this organisation and Francophone countries around the world.

Boekjelezen10!

We wish you all "Bonnes vacances" and we hope to see you all back at school in Term 4!
