School to Work

 

Calling all parents, family members and educators of a student with disability who is currently in Years 9 or 10.

 

Is the young person you support eager to get a job or are you/they thinking about their employment future?  It’s never too early to start considering the possibilities!

 

The School to Work project aims to inspire and equip students with disability, through the support of families, to seek meaningful, paid employment in the community. School to Work will show that real employment in the community is achievable for young people with disability, and it’s never too early to start exploring the possibilities.

 

These two-part webinars provide information for all the varying stages of the process; from those families who haven’t started thinking about employment for the young person to families where the young person is already in paid work.  

 

If you haven’t yet had a chance to attend RIC’s free webinars earlier this year, they are running UPDATEDsessions in August – September for families of young people in this year group, students and professionals.  The days and times are:

 

  • Discovering Work in Years 9-10 - Getting Started: Thursday, 26 August @ 12-1pm
  • Discovering Work in Years 9-10 - The Next Steps: Thursday, 9 September @ 12-1pm

2021 Indigenous Careers Super Fair

This event is normally reserved for university students, but this year we’ve decided to open the event up to year 11 and 12 students as well, since we think it’s never too early to start planning for your career.Students can register for the event here:https://deadlycareers.com.au/icsf-2021/register

Registration is quick and easy and should take students only a few seconds to complete. You can try it yourself.

After registering, students will be redirected to the virtual fair hub where they can begin reviewing events and shortlisting the exhibitors they plan to visit. They’ll also receive an automated email confirming their registration including a button to save the event to their digital calendar.

There have been some changes to the Bachelor of Midwifery admission requirements. For updated information click below. 

From Semester 1 2022 the Bachelor of Nursing, currently running at Ourimbah campus will be taught from our new world-class Central Coast Clinical School (CCCS) at the Gosford campus. The Bachelor of Midwifery, a new addition to the Central Coast will also be taught at the Gosford Clinical school. This world-class facility offers students the opportunity to practice their skills in a simulated clinical environment, whilst working alongside leading researchers and clinicians. Student will have access to purpose-built problem-based learning rooms, virtual reality, and simulated laboratories where you can practice your clinical skills before going out onto placement. This exciting medical, research and innovation hub is an incredible opportunity for our students from nursing, midwifery and medicine.
