Portrait of…?
Focusing on painterly techniques, our Year 9 Visual Arts students created a stretched canvas artwork that reflects their identity. The influence of the world around us was a source of inspiration which was developed through skills and techniques with paint. What talent!
Nice work to all our Year 9 Art students.

Lockdown Learning
O’Connor students have been really engaging well with their learning over the past two weeks of connected learning. The HSIE teachers have commented on the good attendance at Zoom lessons and the positive way that the students have engaged with the learning tasks being posted to Compass and/or Google Classroom. Well done kids and thank you so much to our parents and caregivers for their support and encouragement of our students during this round of lockdown learning.
Our Year 8 students will be soon making decisions about their elective choices for year 9. The HSIE/LOTE department will be offering a number of 1 and 2 semester elective options including Finance for Home Leavers, introduction to Legal Studies, Indigenous Identity and Experience and Beginner’s German and Beginner’s Spanish courses. Make sure you find these in the booklet when it comes out!
Finally, best of luck to our HSC students in their trial examinations this week and next! Dig deep and do your best.

Year 7 have started work on length conversions and perimeter this week. They may be asking to borrow mum’s or dad’s tape measure to help them do some measuring around the house.
Year 8 students are working on statistics and learning how to calculate the mean, median, mode and range from various data sets and graphs as well as learning how to construct and interpret stem and leaf plots.
Year 9 (5.2) is having fun calculating all sorts of perimeters and areas.
Year 11 Standard is just finishing a topic on Statistics and about to start Working with Time.
Year 12 are frantically cramming for their upcoming HSC trial exams.
I found this which pretty much sums up our week. Enjoy!
