Term 3 Update

With the continuation of online learning, our IB students have adapted and continue to impress with their positive mindset and creativity. Our Year 11 IB students had made plans for their CAS project, a group initiative that looks to address an authentic community need. Their original plans included activities such as a winter sleep out and movie nights that were scheduled to take place this term, but with restrictions around large gatherings likely to remain in place for some time, the group have turned their sights to online initiatives. Keeping the theme of global education and literacy, the Year 11 students began work this week to reimagine how they can connect with our Junior School students in the digital space. I look forward to seeing what they come up with.

Our Year 12 IB students have continued to support each other and today shared some of their tips around how to maintain focus, which we all acknowledge is hard to do at the moment. Suggestions included setting focus time, writing short term daily goals and tracking progress visually to promote reward time to celebrate. The key message from all students was to keep doing the little things, a simple but powerful message leading into final examination preparations.

Online Tutoring

For students who are looking for additional support with their learning, individual tutoring can be the answer. Some of our students have recommended a Sydney-based company offering targeted online tutoring for IB students - IB Hub. All tutors at IB Hub are high performing IB graduates or IB teachers, so they have a clear understanding of the course requirements. They offer packages at prices comparable to local tutoring companies, allowing students to access tutoring for a range of subjects, or a focus on just one subject. You can find more information on their website IBHub.com.au
