Principal's Message

Mr Cameron Jones

Dear Parents and Carers,

A sincere thank you for all the support you have offered the school and your children this term. It has felt like a long 10 weeks and I am sure that all students, teachers and parents are ready for a break from online learning over the holidays. Please encourage your children to have a bit of a digital detox over the holidays so that they are ready for the start of next term. This will be a message that I will be reinforcing in the stage zooms this week.

Tell them from me survey

Each year, public schools can opt in to a parent/carer survey regarding key elements of the school. This is a system generated survey rather than the school-based surveys that you have completed throughout the year. I encourage you to take the time to complete the survey at the below link:

http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/roselea

Students will also have the opportunity to complete the second snapshot survey. When completing the survey, could I ask that you try to base your answers on ‘normal face to face’ schooling rather than online learning. Hopefully this is the last online period we will have for a very long time so when analysing the responses, it would be good to know that these are in reference to face to face school. This will help us plan for the future.

Passive area

Thank you to all the students who have submitted designs for an upgraded passive area. It is clear that we have some future architects at Roselea! The final date for submission for this voluntary task is Friday. I look forward to looking over them all over the holidays. The below design is from James in 4C.

Opportunity Class placement test

Parents of Year 4 students who have opted for their children to sit the Opportunity Class placement test should have already received this communication directly from the Department of Education:

As a result of the most recent advice from NSW Health regarding the duration of COVID-19 restrictions and the return to school plan, the Opportunity Class Placement Test scheduled for 6 October 2021 has been delayed. Parents have been advised of the delay.

New testing arrangements for students will be announced as soon as possible.

Kindy Enrolment

We have had more kindergarten enrolments come through the school office since our first parent/carer information night, so if your child is born between 1st August 2016 and 31st July 2017, they are eligible to start Kindergarten in 2022. Enrolments can be completed at the below link:

https://enrol.education.nsw.gov.au/#/?schoolCode=4294

Earlier enrolments assist us greatly in our planning for 2022.

I wish you and your families a fantastic and restful break. I look forward to seeing you back on the gate soon in term 4.
