Opens Cricket Team

On Monday night the opens cricket team took on Kooringal in a knock-out T20 match at Bolton park. After losing the toss and being sent in to bat, we finished up being bowled out for 116 off 18.4 overs. The best of the batsman being Nick Madden with a quick-fire 35, Harry Hastie steadying the ship with 23 and Brad Koetz a solid 20 runs. Overall, a few of the boys batted well, with the rest of the team needing major improvements for next week. In the bowling department, Connor Manson led the way taking 4/16 off his 4 overs, which set the team up for a close finish, with Myles Guy capping it off, taking 2 crucial wickets for 7 runs off his 3 overs. Matt Barton made 2 excellent stumpings as wicketkeeper and had a commendable all around performance as Captain. Winning by 15 runs has qualified KCC for the Semi-Finals, where we will play WWHS, next Monday, at Michael Slater Oval, Bolton Park.
