Principal  Message

Hello everyone,

This week we found ourselves having to adjust and adapt quickly as a community.  The circuit breaker lockdown threw us unexpectedly into a 3 day remote learning program. The challenge was received calmly by the staff and met with a determination make it work for our students.  Given the news of the lockdown happened on Friday afternoon, I think the teachers, parents and students did an amazing job of working through the week as a team.  Again, I thank the staff for their efforts and commitment to the families during this time.

We know that for many families lockdown can be a stressful time, so if you are concerned about your wellbeing or that of your child, please contact the school so we can talk with you about how we can best assist. Other sources of support include:

Parent Line; 13 22 89

Kids Helpline; 1800 55 1800

Department’s COVID-19 Helpline; Mon-Fri, 8.30am to 5pm on 1800 338 663.

In the event that a lockdown happens again, we will have our platforms ready so that face to face teaching can take place online. Over the next couple of weeks SeeSaw will be rolled over and updated so that Prep to Grade 2 can communicate easily with parents and students. We have also made the decision to include Years 3 and 4 on the SeeSaw platform this year as this is familiar to the Year 3's from last years remote learning and parent feedback has been that SeeSaw worked well for their families.  The teachers will also spend some time upskilling and reminding our older students of how to use Teams for online learning so we are all feeling confident. Help for parents will also be available for new parents or anyone that is needing support with the platforms.

Our Information Nights have been moved online and below are the meetings details for you to login via WebEx on the night. A link below provides information about WebEx should you not be familiar with this platform. You can enter WebEx meetings via the Cisco app or the Teams app. The teachers will be presenting general information about the teaching and learning program, camps and specialists.  General questions will be welcomed but if you have specific questions regarding your child, please contact your teacher and they will happily set up a meeting with you.
