Barwon and Bellarine Divisions Swimming Championships 2021

On Friday, 26 February, I had the pleasure of taking two of our students to the Geelong Public Schools Swimming Championships. Oscar Durden, Year 12, and Thomas Airey, Year 8, both represented the school in a positive and respectful manner. They have both qualified for the next level of competition, the Western Metro Region. Thanks also to the parents who cheered them on and supported them. 

Oscar did particularly well and qualified in all five of his events. He was competing off limited training, so this is an impressive achievement.

Results:

• 17-20Yr Butterfly - 2nd
• 16-20Yr Freestyle - 1st
• 20Yr Freestyle - 1st
• 20Yr Backstroke - 1st
• 16-20Yr Ind Medley - 2nd

Thomas swam strongly in both events and also came up against regular squad swimmers.

Results:

• 14Yr Freestyle - 3rd
• 14Yr Backstroke - 1st
