MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

Allister Hill

Middle Sub School Manager

I would like to start with a huge congratulations to all our Year 9 and Year 10 students. You have started the year off in a really positive manner. You kept the momentum going through our snap lock-down and haven’t wasted any time with your studies and extracurricular activities.

Progress Reports

Parents and students would have recently received the Term 1, week 4 Progress Reports. We have had so many more students achieving personal bests or perfect progress report scores. As you would be aware, progress reports are a reporting mechanism where students' levels of effort and application to their studies are measured irrespective of their level of academic ability.  It is hoped that the implementation of General Performance Averages (GPA) will provide a framework whereby teachers, families and students can work together to promote positive learning habits and behaviours. The perfect GPA for your progress report is 4. Students are usually marked on the following learning behaviours.

  • Attendance
  • Progress in achievement
  • Homework
  • Participation
  • Preparation and organisation
  • Respect to staff/students

Our Year 9 students continue to set really high standards. This time we had two students receive a perfect GPA of 4 and another 12 students who received 3.9 or above. I would like to individually acknowledge these students:
