Swimming Carnival

It was fantastic to see the strong friendships and sense of camaraderie that is developing across the year level at the school swimming carnival. There were some fantastically colourful and creative costumes which the students had put a lot of time and effort into creating.

Many of our VCAL students chose to attend this day, despite it not being one of their regular school days, which again shows the bonds developing across the whole year level.

Year 12 Breakfast and Crazy Socks

A number of Year 12 students are making the most of the fantastic breakfast provided by our amazing Captains every Friday morning. It is a festive atmosphere in the VCE kitchen and helps to relieve the stress and finish off the week in a really positive way.   All students are encouraged to pop in before school every Friday morning.

Students can also don their most colourful and creative socks on a Friday morning, for a bit of fun and to fund raise for an important charity.

Peer Support

Year 11 students have been enjoying supporting our Year 7 students with a range of team building activities. It is great to see them developing their maturity and leadership while building meaningful relationships with the younger students.

Friendly Faces Badges

A new initiative was introduced this year following a fantastic suggestion from Olivia Bradshaw (Year 9).

Senior students who have shown a friendly and caring attitude have been chosen to receive ‘Friendly Faces’ badges.

Junior students who need a little extra help around the school ground can approach students wearing a friendly face and they will happily point them in the right direction or answer their questions.

The senior students have been excited to be given this role and are wearing their badges with pride.

SAC Clashes

On occasions, VCE students may find that they have a SAC clash. Students need to check their SAC dates early and to pop into the VCE Office to fill in a SAC clash form, if they need to change one of their SACs. It will be done at the next available time.

Students will not be granted SAC Redemption unless,  they have a medical certificate or it is a school-approved absence. If there are extenuating circumstances, please let us know and we will make a decision based on the VCAA guidelines.

Year 11 Captains' Report

Year 11 has been a big, but good change for all of us. Although things started a little bumpy, with half a week of online learning, we have all been able to adapt to our new situations and we are loving it. VCE gives us more freedom with our education, while also letting us take responsibility for our own learning.

Since transitioning into VCE, the relationships with our teachers have grown even stronger and having the opportunity to choose the subjects that we all love, has been enjoyable.

Year 11 has allowed us to expand our knowledge and independence. Relationships with our peers have also been strengthened, due to the wide range of classes that we are all partaking in, and finding each other's similarities.
