Campion Booklists for Years 7-12 2023will be published to parents on Fri 18 Nov through Compass, with a link to the Campion site to order your books. The last day for ordering your Campion Booklists is Fri 16 Dec 2022.
Secondhand bookswill not be sold at the College in 2022.
Year 9&10 Cycle of Revision, Assessment and Feedbackwill take place from Mon 21 Nov and Thu 1 Dec. Students will engage in a RAF cycle of structured revision, a common assessment activity/task, and the opportunity to reflect on the feedback provided on the assessment task to demonstrate evidence of learning (knowledge and skills) learnt within a unit of learning, topic, or semester. Students may experience a variety of assessment types e.g. an exam, a test, a practical assessment tasks, a problem-solving task, or a sustained writing task (eg. essay or report).
The Year 11 into 12 Step-Up Program will take place from Tue 22 Nov to Wed 30 Nov. Year 11 students will commence their Year 12 subjects and begin to cover the Unit 3 content. All students in VCE and VCE-VM are expected to participate in the Step-Up program. For more information, please refer to the 'Year 11 Step Up & Academic Conferences' page of this Newsletter.
The Year 11 Student Review Conferenceswill take place on Thu 1 Dec. Each student will be invited to a 15min Conference with one of their Year 11 teachers to reflect on their academic achievements and growth, review exams, and prepare for 2023. Parents are encourged to attend these conferences. For more information, please refer to the 'Year 11 Step Up & Academic Conferences' page of this Newsletter.
Year 9 Mock Interviewswill take place on Mon 5 Dec. This is an opportunity for students to participate in an interview process to prepare them for future job and leadership opportunities and to get valuable feedback on how to improve.
The Year 9 Alternative Learning Program will take place from Tue 6 Dec to Fri 9 Dec. With Year 10 students finishing on 2 Dec, Year 9 students will attend their Year 9 only classes as per the normal schedule but participate in an alternative sequence of lessons for any Year 9/10 subject. The 9/10 classes in the same block will be combined and the students in these blocks will participate in a sequence of engaging and specially designed lessons focused on English, Hums and or Science skills and content.
The End of Year Program will take place from Mon 12 Dec to Fri 12 Dec. This is optional set of activities and events run each day for Year 7-9 students.
Year 6 to 7 Orientation Daywill take place on Tue13 Dec. We look forward to welcoming Grade 6 students who will be coming into year 7 in 2023.
Transgender Awareness Week Sun 13 - Sat 19 November
Next week, during Trans Awareness Week, the Wantirna College LGBTIQA+ Alliance (supported by Sandra Middleton) are having a BYO lunch on Tuesday on the grassed area outside B Block. Staff and students are invited to sit down and enjoy a spot of lunch together (weather permitting) and their Allyship of trans and gender diverse students, to raise awareness of transgender issues and to build a fair and equal school community for all students.
