Assistant Principal News

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.

Matthew 18:20

On Friday November 11 our Year 12 students, parents and teachers celebrated their Graduation at the Exies. Together we shared a special evening of joy, achievement and faith. I wish to thank all the parents for their support of these students over the past 6 years at MCC and wish the students all the best for the future.

Speaking of gathering together for special moments, this coming Friday November 25th the College will welcome over 130 new Year 6 students for their Oh! Day. The students will meet the College Leadership Team and their new Pastoral Leader Mr Buckland, before attending a range of different classes including: Maths, English, Science, Commerce, PDHPE, Music, Visual Arts and Technology. Students will finish the day, again all together gathering with their Peer Support Leaders to bond and collaborate. I hope all students have a wonderful first full day at the College. Parents and students please note that the Class groupings that students are in for their Oh! Day, will not be their classes for next year.

Our new Year 12 students this week will attend their Year 12 Formation Camp. Students will leave on Wednesday, with a team of wonderful teachers, returning on Friday. The camp will be an opportunity to thank Homeroom Teacher/Acting Pastoral Leader Mr Keady and Pastoral Leader for the last 6 years Miss Davis, who unfortunately will leave us at the end of this year. The Camp will also offer an opportunity for the students to welcome their incoming Year 12 Leader Mrs Savage. Year 12, I know from experience that you will have a joyous, memorable and rewarding time!

Congratulations also to Mr Marshall and our Chess Team, who are now the State Champions after our Grand Final win on Wednesday! What an amazing achievement! I look forward to recognising the achievements of this group of students and Mr Marshall at an upcoming Whole College Assembly.

Speaking of upcoming events, please see below a snapshot of some of the key dates coming up in the final weeks of 2023.

Yours in learning,
