Share the Dignity

Imagine that your life took a turn for the worse, and you had to leave your home with nothing more than the clothes you are wearing, and maybe with a young child? Unfortunately, that is the reality for some women in Australia today. Share the Dignity is a charity that supports women in these situations by providing them with Dignity Bags - bags of essential items to assist them in this time of difficulty.

As part of their learning in the subject area of Civics and Citizenship, the Year 5 students are partnering with this charity to arrange for the provision of these bags.

We are inviting all students in the Primary School to join with us by bringing along specific items as listed below (new and unused):

  • Kinder: Hairbrush or comb
  • Prep: Toothbrush
  • Year 1: Toothpaste
  • Year 2: Body wash or soap
  • Year 3: Shampoo
  • Year 4: Conditioner
  • Year 5 Girls: Pads
  • Year 6 Girls: Tampons
  • Year 5 & 6 Boys: Roll on Deodorant

Optional luxury items can also be provided: make-up, hair ties, a movie ticket, a book, a towel, jewellery, undies, sanitiser, wet wipes, etc.

We also need bags in which to pack these items – handbags or backpacks in good condition. If you are able to donate a suitable bag, please send it to school with your child.

Important Dates:

Friday, 11 November:  Students please bring your requested item to your classroom.

Friday, 18 November:  Share the Dignity - primary school free dress day. The donated item is in lieu of a gold coin donation.

Prize:

There is a prize of donuts for the class that brings the most items! You can bring as many items as you wish.

Secondary Students:

Secondary students can also donate to this worthy cause. It is suggested that the ‘luxury items’ listed above would be most appropriate. Please bring your donation to the Year 5/6 hub.

World Teachers' Day Lunch

Our teachers and staff were overwhelmed with a delicious buffet of food from our families to enjoy for lunch in celebration of World Teachers Day.

Many handwritten cards and notes of thanks were also delivered from families and students in appreciation of all that teachers do. The secondary captains came and presented a beautiful video of students sharing their gratitude to their teachers, along with cards for all of the teachers, on behalf of the secondary senate.

Thanks again to all our families for all your generous contributions!
