School of Languages 2023

Every year we have a wide range of students studying an additional language through the School of Languages. The School of Languages is a government run school that offers an extensive list of languages after school hours at a variety of sites around Adelaide.

These courses are a great way to learn about other cultures and learn to speak another language which in and of itself has so many benefits!

The fees are very reasonable and as the senior courses are accredited at SACE Stage 1 and Stage 2, students often study one of these languages to Year 12 (Stage 2).

Senior students can benefit from studying a language they are familiar with through the School of Languages and then use it as part of their SACE, in the calculation of an ATAR and to possibly reduce their subject load at Year 12. Students can also study many of the languages at Stage 1 and Stage 2 Beginner level.

In 2023 the School of Languages is starting a new Punjabi language program at Valley View Secondary School, focusing on Years 7-9. The attached flyer will give you further information about this new initiative.  Should you wish for further information on other languages please contact the School of Languages or 8301 4800. I am also happy to answer any questions you may have.
